On a donc essayé de s'évader sur la route : direction Coconut Groove, Little Havana et l'île de Key Biscayne ainsi que pour finir un tour aux Everglades !! Le bayou plein de crocos!! Ca c'était bien. On a eu le droit à une petite balade de 45 mn. Ce sport a débuté d'abord en Espagne, Mexique puis aux Etats-Unis avec les cowboys et les cowgirls qui y participent aussi !!<br />C'est l'évènement à Houston pendant plusieurs semaines!<br />Je tiens aussi à souligner que les méthodes pour exciter les cheveux ou les taureaux sont vraiment trash !! On leur met une corde autour d'eux en serrant très fort sur leurs "couilles"... ce qui met l'animal dans un état incontrôlable.. On a pas pu avec grand regret goûter au buffet qu'ils proposaient à l'intérieur ( 2 h min de queue!). On devient plus fou qu'autre chose avec: Combien de personnes ont tués leurs femmes ou un proche sur un coup de colère. Il ya bien plus d'homicides volontaires que de self defense acts. Le truc qui m'a choqué... c'est ce gun show ( une foire aux armes à feu). Les gens y ressortent avec des armes découvertes car même si elles ne sont pas chargées, ya de quoi avoir peur. Je pense que j'ai zapé pas mal "d'events"!! Par où commencer..? Le match de football entre les Dynamos ( équipe de foot de Houston) contre Galaxy ( équipe de Los Angeles), il ya déjà deux semaines. On m'avait promis que Beckham serait sur le banc de touche parcequ'il était blessé... Mais même pas vu ! Par contre, un vrai show à l'américaine! Rien à voir avec les matchs de foot à l'européenne !! J'attends des photos et vidéos pr vous les poster !!<br /><br />Galveston, ville très jolie au sud de Houston. On a pu apprécier la mer et le centre ville. Le midi, le buffet chinois self service était un vrai régal !<br /><br />Sinon, la rencontre lundi dernier avec Vicente Fox en personne était inimaginable. J'ai eu l'honneur de lui parler qql minutes et de recevoir gratuitement son livre dédicacé! Serrer la main à un président, ça fait de l'effet ! Son discours au cours du déjeuner était formidable ( portant essentiellement sur la problématique du mur) .<br /><br />2 jours auparavant, rencontre avec l'ambassadeur de France à Washington, M. Pierre Vimont et entretien avec 3 journalistes de Houston Chronicle ( Journal local ) m'a vraiment donné l'impression d'être propulsée dans la cour des grands! Ca fait bizarre! Ne vous inquiétez pas, je garde la tête sur les épaules...<br /><br />Enfin, je rentre d'un WE hors du commun passé à Austin. Avec un ptit gpe de 8 personnes. D'abord, j'aimerais bien en croiser, des mecs avec leurs chapeaux et leurs santiags aux pieds! A Houston, on est loin du Ranch de Dallas... Que dire sur la ville? C'est HUGE! très étendue. we undoubtly need a car ! Lots of things to do.<br />Yesterday, I went to the theatre. A friend of mine invited me to a well-known band: Twelve Girls Band. They were awsome! They were playing traditonnal chinese instruments. They were so impressive!<br />For the moment, I hang out with French or foreign people... Some americans of course but they usually are 2nd or 3rd generation of immigrants ( from Latin America, Caribbean sea..).<br />Je vous raconterai mon WE ce dimanche à mon retour... Je vais sur la côté au sud de Houston ( Galveston) avant d'aller visiter le WE prochain la capitale du Texas ( Austin).<br />Je vous fais à tous de gros bisous! Je vérifie le niveau de l'huile, le liquide de refroidissement et le niveau d'essence le plus souvent possible.<br />Je circule avec une Ford Taurus ptet de 92 (The typical american car), avec un capot qui n'est qu'à moitié fermé et un compteur qui passe du 50 miles au 75 miles toutes les 2 secondes... Faut pas trop lui en demander !! Mais, je suis très contente, car je survis à Houston grâce à elle!!<br />Pas facile de se déplacer surtt qd on met 3/4 d'heure voire 1h à rentrer chez soi après le boulot en voiture!!<br />Je salue mon garagiste au passage, Rida! Il m'a trouvé une bonne affaire. Dans qqls jours, je conduirai une Mazda, ma première vraie voiture étant donné qu'il me prête la Ford Taurus pr le moment.<br /><strong>Point numéro 2: </strong>Le logement : "C'est beau mais c loin" comme dirait Chirac. Eh oui, trop loin de tout... du toptown où je bosse mais encore plus du downtown ( le centre où peuvent se faire pas mal de sorties..). Après la voiture, il faudra penser à changer de logement...Affaire à suivre...<br /><strong>Point numéro 3: </strong>Le Boulot: C'est épuisant qd même! surtt pr les yeux (tte une journée devant un écran d'ordi... pas simple)<br /><strong>Point numéro 4: Les sorties !!!!!</strong>Rien de mieux pr pvr oublier la fatigue de la journée!<br />Pr le moment, je m'éclate vraiment.<br />Programme du WE dernier: Samedi: Crémaillère chez Alain à petit comité, histoire de bien faire connaissance avec ses collègues de bureau et une charmante Kazak bossant à Schlum ( Schlumberger: la grosse boite qui emploie pas mal d'étrangers, ingénieurs de formation pr bossr dans devinez quoi ???? Le pétrole... J'en parlerai d'ailleurs plus tard) [ Les ricains avec leurs voitures, c qd même du spectacle mais aussi un beau gaspillage des ressources !]<br />Le lendemain, fitness et piscine... y a que ça ici dans tous les ensembles résidentiels... c la classe qd même de se croire encore en vacances alors que l'année scolaire est belle est bien commencée...<br />Le soir, une soirée ciné (chez Zarina la kazak) avec Geisha et une bouffe indienne qu'on a prise à emporter.<br />Enfin, une superbe soirée Baseball hier grâce à Romy, qui nous a eu des tickets gratos + un repas en zone VIP. Ya pas trop de quoi se plaindre pr le moment....<br />Je dirais donc que mon année à l'étranger s'annonce plutôt très bien!<br />J'arrêterai d'écrire des romans et de vous ennuiyer dès que j'aurais plus de photos...<br />Bisous à tous !!!!!! Tout se passe à merveille !!<br />Today, J'ai eu l'opportunité de faire connaissance avec le nouveau consul! Eh oui, ca fait bizarre de côtoyer des énarques de si près. On avait des papiers administratifs à faire en ville. Accompagnés par le chauffeur du consulat , on a attendu pdt 1h30 pour pouvoir faire une demande pour un "Social security Number". Le truc essentiel pour tout habitant texan ou résident étranger à Houston! Il s'agit d'un numéro d'identité qui permet de passer le permis texan ( ce que je vais devoir faire d'ailleurs), d'avoir un abonnement téléphonique , une carte bancaire...<br />Sinon, la revue de presse quotidienne m'intéresse vraiment pour le moment. Quelques autres travaux me sont aussi demandés comme: l’écriture d'un article sur le 250 eme anniversaire de la naissance de la FAYETTE qui sera publié dans le mag Trait D'Union ( à voir en ligne prochainement sur le site internet du consulat de Houston ). Je me suis aussi penchée sur les prochaines exécutions prévues dans l'Etat du Texas d'ici la fin du mois ( 5 sont programmés).<br /><br />Voilou, pr le boulot! C du sérieux... oui et non... Je m'éclate bien avec mon voisin de bureau, l'autre stagiaire du service: Alain called Alan by Americans!<br />A part ca, j'ai visité un des plus gds musées de Houston avec le stagiaire culture du consulat ce soir. On a fini la soirée dans un bar à tapas. C'était génial! Sauf que la différence ici, c'est qu'une assiette à tapas suffit pour être rassasié! Les quantités sont tellemnt plus grandes !! On comprend pourquoi le tour de taille des américains n’est pas le même. Eh bien voilà, des news!!!!!!!!!!!!<br /><br /><br />A vrai dire, je me remets vraiment difficilement du décalage horaire sachant que je n'ai pas du tt dormi pdt mes longues heures de vol. D’abord, j'ai sympathisé avec mon voisin américain originaire du Nevada pdt les 10 heures de vol entre Paris- Dallas. Il m'a carrément mise ds le bain : anglais tout le temps du vol + comparaison des deux modes de vie (il venait de passer 3 semaines à Paris) + de superbes expressions bien texane pr certaines et qui pourront ptet me servir. </div><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify">Ensuite, 4h d’attente à Dallas… où, j’ai failli rater ma correspondance ! On ne m’avait pas indiqué la bonne porte d’embarquement ! A peine, 15 mn avant le départ, je redemande la confirmation de la porte et ils m’annoncent qu’ils ont changé de porte entre temps. . . (Pourtant, je suis certaine qu’ils ne l’ont pas annoncé).<br />Enfin, arrivée saine et sauve à Houston. My host family was waiting for me at the airport. Once, I was at home, we visited the house… was really Awesome! My room is so big ( private bath + dress room) . Excitation et envie de profiter encore de ma chère Tunisie ! Eh oui, tandis que beaucoup d’autres sont déjà entrain de découvrir la joie de l’exil, je l’espère en tout cas… je profites encore de mes derniers moments en famille !!<br /><br /> Ici, le soleil est au rendez-vous comme à l’accoutumée et les vacances vont bon train ! Hier soir, soirée mémorable avec le fameux DJ argentin Hernan Cattaneo au Bora Bora (meilleure boîte de Tunisie, c’est Ibiza made in Sousse !). J’y ai retrouvé pas mal d’amis, le retour aux sources en quelques mots. Ca fait du bien !! Je souligne aussi au passage que la soirée spéciale de "JOACHIM GARRAUD" était aussi bien pour ne pas faire de jaloux ou d’envieux !<br /><br /> On m’a demandé de faire un blog… A vrai dire, j’étais assez réticente au début ! Pourquoi ? Parce qu’il n’y a plus de secrets. Tout le monde peut savoir ce que je fais à la minute où je poste les infos sur le blog. Mais, au vu du plaisir que j’ai à visiter les sites des personnes déjà en vadrouille à l’étranger, je n’ai pas pu m’empêcher de créer mon propre blog afin de partager mes futures aventures. </div><div align="justify"> </div><div align="justify">Enfin, tout raconter 9 mois après, c’est un peu trop dur ! Une synthèse s’imposera de toute manière à la fin de mon séjour chez « les cowboys » !
